Through the years

I've finally dug these photographs showing my ancient FOs out of the albums. If I had known then that they would be published in my knitting blog years later I'm sure they would have been taken in better lighting.

Probably donated to Oxfam.....

My very first jumper knitted in Sirdar DK. The casting on/off was done by Mrs Popham my landlady at Brynhyfryd Rd, Newport, South Wales. The same jumper still proudly worn at Warwick some 2 yrs later.

An Aran wool cardigan on the way...

Probably my most ambitious project while at Warwick.
Still being worn at a fair some years later when I returned to work in London.
Couldn't remember whom I gave it to until Estherie mentioned that she still has it and uses it when it gets cold in Melbourne.

He had to be kept occupied while I was preparing for exams so taught Sam how to knit!

Noticed Wong wearing it in his Kunming photographs, Dec 2005! Must go get it back as it's practically an heirloom!

My first attempt at Mohair knitting.
It was baby pink in stockinette stitch and I was literally swimming in it, so gifted it to Susan, a French major at Warwick.

One of the more expansive wool I bought on a student budget, Jaeger DK. It was a dark green heather and the jumper was worn right up to when I left London.

I remembered falling in love with the pattern in a LYS, Newport High Street market arcade
This white chunky cabled jumper has navy blue bands on the cuff and neck.

The Sirdar pattern.........>>>>
in my folder of relics....

Another chunky knit in speckled beige and maroon. It was accidently 'felted' in the dryer after the first wear and I refused to give it up. I stretched it all the time and continued wearing it to lectures.
